Hygiene & Security

UMR-S 1329 ensures the safety of its members and promotes a safe and compliant working environment in the laboratory.

Within the unit, some of our members are trained as Assistants de Prévention (AP), who are responsible for health and safety. They play a key role in the management of safety and the prevention of occupational risks within the structure. Working with the employer and/or the head of the establishment, they contribute to the continuous improvement of working conditions, the protection of staff health and the prevention of accidents or occupational illnesses. In the event of an accident, they are supported by the Sauveteurs Secouristes du Travail (SST). Anyone wishing to do so can train to become an SST.

APs have a variety of tasks:

  • Raising awareness and training members of the laboratory in good health and safety practice in the workplace by:
    • issuing safety instructions and checking that they are properly applied
    • storing chemical products and providing all Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
    • providing advice on tidying up laboratories and maintaining good hygiene
    • providing NEO training
  • coordinating and updating essential administrative documents, such as the assessment of professional risks and the drafting of the single document.
  • Identifying and managing individual exposure sheets.
  • Supporting users in the safe handling of equipment, waste disposal and compliance with prevention protocols.
  • Providing a proactive presence in emergencies, to respond effectively to critical situations.
  • They are key contacts for the committees (F3SCT, F4SCT) as well as the occupational medicine and prevention departments of UNISTRA & INSERM

This enables them to ensure that our laboratories remain safe and healthy workplaces for everyone and to promote a culture of safety and responsibility, in order to prevent accidents and protect both people and the environment.

In our unit you will find four PAs:

  • CRBS: Séverine, Stéphane and Claudia (office 426, 409 and 414)
  • Psychiatric Unit: Estelle

University

Ensure that gender equality is upheld in recruitment, performance management and career progression

Identify and report recurring instances of inequality or any form of discrimination affecting university staff and students

Raise awareness among all members of the university community regarding issues of abuse of power, and psychological or sexual harassment

Aim to improve the quality of working life at the university to ensure a good work-life balance

Within the unit and the CRBS, the Equality and Gender Diversity Officers are committed to ensuring these objectives are met. For any enquiries, please contact the team of officers at the following address: crbs-referentsparite[at]unistra.fr

Gender-based, sexual and homophobic violence (VSSH)

Gender-based, sexual and homophobic violence (GSXV) refers to verbal or physical violence that undermines a person’s dignity, damages the working environment, and may be linked to their gender or sexual orientation. If you experience VSSH (insults, harassment, assault, etc.), you can turn to support contacts within the laboratory or external organisations who will be able to assist you.

Members of the unit are trained to listen to and support those experiencing sexual and sexual harassment; these are the first-point-of-contact staff. Their role is to support, listen to and refer victims of sexual and sexual harassment within a company. Discussions take place with the strictest respect for confidentiality and an absolute guarantee of anonymity if this is requested by the person making the report. Within the UMR-S, the first responders are the following individuals:

  • CRBS: Séverine, Aurélie, Stéphane, Véronique, Raphaëlle (bureau 426, 417, 409 et 414)
  • Psychiatric clinic: Ugo (office 3)

Of course, you can also turn to your colleagues and team leaders. Outside the laboratory, there are also a number of people and organisations available to support you:
